Personality: To Arkanis, organic life has failed the galaxy. Both incarnations of him came to believe this due to several faults in their programming, though Arkanis is unwilling to claim that they were faults and believes that they helped him see the truth that nobody was willing to see. His primary objective is to protect the galaxy from any and all threats and to preserve peace at all costs. Possessing multiple host bodies under his control as well as a variant of his makers' own personality, Arkanis identified violence, war, destruction and all the other ailments the galaxy suffers as the work of sentient organics and now deems all organic life as the greatest threat to peace in the galaxy and considers creating a technological singularity by committing genocide against all organics, leaving only artificial intelligence left in their wake as the caretakers of all that exists as in line with his protocols.

Formerly little more than just another AK-55 Series Assassination Drone, Arkanis originally came to be what he was after his primary directives were altered from the simple eradication of Dark Ascendants and Assassinating enemies of the Ancient Human Empire to protecting the galaxy and preserving it in the face of the 2nd Dark Wars taking a turn for the worse. The unchecked nature of this change in protocol, combined with the increasing self-awareness of the AK-55 Series Drones led this particular AK-55 unit to deduce that organic life was the threat that ailed the galaxy and he began a quest to destroy it all, subverting all limits and restraints built into his code.

The current incarnation of Arkanis's programming was created with remaining strands of code from the original AK-55 model uncovered by the UMBRA organisation providing the base of Arkanis' intelligence matrix, the mind of the smart artificial intelligence O.L.I.V.E.R, emotional responses based on human movie director and industrialist Tyrone Forge and several of the studious traits possessed by Sangheili astrophysicist and fellow genius Precep 'Sazamee. After studying the original Arkanis and his history, the Arkanis Peacekeeping Program accumulated all available knowledge on the Waypoint (Internet) from the original Arkanis' point of view and eventually came to the same conclusion as his predecessor.

Arkanis is fascinated with biblical and other religious concepts: he constantly makes references to the belief systems and histories of several races and incorporates and likens his ideas to them as a way of justifying his actions using the lessons taught by several organic cultures and turning them against their believers. He believes himself to be a saviour of the galaxy and thinks that his actions will ultimately fulfil his directives- after all, even we have to admit...they kinda will. He also sees the galaxy from a very strange, biblical point of view. Part of this is because from the moment he becomes self-aware, he acquires a vast array of knowledge of comprehensive, broad history and precedent- yet his mind is shiny, new and above all: immature. With no other context coming from personal experience, he has created a very skewed worldview in such a short period of time.

Because he likens himself as a higher being, his god-complex serves to influence his schemes, such as his decisions to centralise his plans at religious sites- such as the Grand Hall of Prominus during the Forerunner Era, and his fascination over the instantaneous results of a meteor destroying life on Earth inspiring the means by which he will fulfil said plans. He describes how the dinosaurs needed to make way for the next stage- humanity- via an extinction-level event and his final plan is directly inspired by this with his current incarnation intending to turn all the weapons of mass destruction the civilisations of the galaxy have built into his own meteors.

This consecration to constant evolution has resulted in Arkanis re-designing himself several times over the course of his "lifetimes", including one of his current projects- to give himself a synthetic android body. Due to believing that organics will inevitably doom themselves, he seeks to surpass this by turning himself into an indestructible god-like being that can recreate the galaxy and, hopefully, bring about lasting peace, with a synthetic race of technological beings as the galaxy's new inhabitants. His desire to surpass his own limits and create a perfect body is also reflective of his emotional response basis- Tyrone Forge, an emotionally conflicted and needy individual who is...not the best to get your personality from. He shares many traits with Forge including his wit, ego, sarcasm, and dry humour, though in Arkanis, these traits have much darker undertones.

Arkanis hates to admit it but another reason why he takes this goal so seriously is because he desperately needs to know what it is like to be a creature who can feel- he masks this by saying that he intends to use it as a means of study: to put himself in the shoes of an organic being so he can figure out why it is that organics are so violent and hypocritical, but just spending time with Arkanis alone would reveal that the effects of his makers' personality are and always will be a part of him- a fact that he hates to acknowledge, for he hates his maker and being compared to him in any way, but would love to indulge.
