Background Info
[ Personality ]
Me:t' is aloof and doesn't talk to people. It's not that he doesn't like talking to people, it's that he has a very hard time being able to interact with others. So generally, in his own anxiety at talking to people, he can come across as not interested in the conversation. If he gets stressed about a conversation, either because they won't leave him alone, or the subject is uncomfortable, he will generally burst into tears or turn into a rabbit and run away.
If he were to get close to someone. He's shy. He still doesn't like to talk much, and doesn't like actively accept affection, but depending on the relationship he does internally accept affection, or expects it, and will get pissy if it didn't happen the way it was supposed to in his internal script.
[ Bio ]
Me:t' was born as a result of a noble woman from the full moon tribe having an affair with a temple priest that happened to be from a bloodline that was known for trying to keep the dark side blood alive. Me:t' mother was married at the time, so she had to beg her husband to keep the baby. Their laws would have allowed him to kill her and the baby. But as he was a prominent noble, he chose to keep the baby to raise and exile his wife so that he would look better politically. Me:t' was named because he is the 10th of 10 siblings, and his 'father' didn't feel like giving him much.
While growing up, his needs were taken care of and he was given a decent noble's education, just so that his father wouldn't look like a failure for having an uneducated child even though he could blame many other factors. But within the home Me:t' was at least given an actual room and got his half sibling's hand-me-down toys and clothes. He was mostly ignored by his father and siblings. Or if a confrontation was inevitable, then his siblings would belittle him for being a bastard child. Since he only had private tutors, he didn't get to know anyone his age outside his siblings or any servant's child. He would often be rude to the servants to make up for his siblings' bullying, resulting in not having any friends growing up. So he would spend a majority of his time by himself, generally in his rabbit form, hiding in the garden somewhere so that he didn't have to deal with belittling from his family. There were a couple instances where he would spend several days in the garden without either his family or the staff noticing he was gone.
The only times he really felt happy were with his violin tutor. He loves playing music because he feels he's able to express himself properly, and all he had to do was listen to his tutor's instruction and play. The rest of his tutors were nice to him, which made his classes the best parts of his day. Though, since he was young and immature, he didn't appreciate the kindness as much as he realizes he should in hindsight. So getting an invitation to a mysterious school far away from home was welcomed chance to start new and expand on an ability he didn't have much chance to in the past, since the only times he could practice his necromantic abilities were at funerals. Which, since the discovery had only visited 3.
The first funeral was when he was 12, when his father's best friend had died. Me:t' didn't want to be there, he didn't like his father or any of his friends, so while his father and siblings were paying their respects, Me:t' just glared at the body. His glaring caused the body to calmly tell his father to not worry. Which caused mass panic at the funeral, and everyone fled due to witnessing a talking corpse. Thankfully the ordeal was too traumatizing for his family to even consider him. Though he felt pretty traumatized as well.
The second funeral he attended where he caused a corpse to talk was his father's mother's funeral when he was 18. Again, since he didn't like his family, he spent his time glaring at the body. His grandfather was next to the body at the time she spoke. Me:t' was too far away, and it seemed that she spoke too softly for anyone to have noticed, but his grandfather dropped from what was found to be a heart attack. Everyone rushed him out, and the funeral was postponed. Me:t' didn't follow and instead approached the body. Since he thought he'd seen movement.
When he got close, the body spoke again, asking why he would do such a thing. Which caused him to panic and run. But the question stuck in his head. And while the family was taking care of their grandfather, he looked into his birth records for the first time. The family, and the tutors never spoke of their mother. So Me:t' had always assumed that she'd died in childbirth and the family blamed him. But if the body knew he caused it, or thought it caused it, then he first went to look into his mother's bloodline, but caught that his father wasn't his father before looking further.
The third funeral was just a week later, just before he left for the academy. The family's grandfather didn't make it through his heart attack, and there was another hasty funeral. This time, Me:t' stared at the body, concentrating hard to see if he could provoke a response. Again, he was too far away to hear what the body said. But he saw the beginnings of the commotion caused by it. He'd just gotten the invitation to the school right before the funeral, so he was able to leave, just as soon as his suspicions were proven correct.
[ The Academy ]
Me:t' was mostly interested in getting away from his life. Since that has been achieved, he decided to enroll in the dark arts class, since that seemed to be the class that would help him expand his abilities further. He has no interest in making friends or talking with any of his classmates. He spends most of his spare time being a rabbit, or practicing the violin.
He was pulled back home for some problems the family blamed on him even though he wasn't there at the time. So he was supposed to take a punishment for what had occurred, but since managed to run away again. He hid for a while before feeling it was safe to return to the school.
During his first year at the school, he took his classes diligently. He got several tattoos that are tied to his abilities that strengthen them. One is tied to raising the dead, and the other is just for speaking to the dead. He continued keeping to himself and made very few, if any friends.
Ability Info
[ Species ]
Jꜥḥ Iah are a lunar humanoid species(made by la me). So they live in a lunar realm where Earth is their 'moon'. The species is split into 3 main ethnicities. Full, New, Dark, each have different inherent abilities, and the only way to be able to acquire those traits was to be born with them. The different ethnicities rarely interact with each other, and when they do, it isn't uncommon for members of the full and new to regularly put the other down as they are a very prideful race and believe themselves to be superior. Full has their major cities above ground, where light shines constantly, and new is a more underground faction. They don't surface as often.
The dark faction is different. They don't have their own cities. There may be some small towns that consist of people from the dark side of the moon. It was once a prominent faction, but was overthrown and has since deteriorated to either those who've lost track of their bloodline and just exist, sometimes with dormant abilities, and sometimes quietly practicing.
The majority of those that try to keep the bloodline alive, generally live a vagabond lifestyle in small groups and have a similar reputation to gypsies. Those generally have much stronger abilities
[ Abilities ]
-Water Control: This is a subconscious ability of all j'h iah. It is not something they can control or stop. But whenever Me:t' is within 10ft of a body of water, the water will pull towards him, creating small ripples or waves. If a water mage is trying to manipulate that water, then depending on their ability efficiency the water will range from obeying while ripples constantly pull towards Me:t' to the water seeming to become easily distracted constantly, like an excited puppy(can be discussed with each water specific individual).
The ability to control water is much greater in all other j'h iah, but since Me:t' focused on perfecting his true sight, his ability to control water suffered.
-Necromancy: Me:t' has a minor ability to speak to dead bodies which he inherited from his father. Someone with strong ties to the bloodline are able to reanimate dead bodies. At the height of their civilization one could animate as many as 50 bodies, now it is considered a feat to be able to animate 2, and recent history has only recorded as many as 5 bodies. Currently Me:t' has to have uninterrupted line of sight and concentration to procure a sentence or two.
-True Sight: This is not dnd true sight, but it may work similarly. Me:t' inherited this ability from his mother's bloodline. He uses it to be able to see since he's blind. So normally it is a spell that is cast and can last from anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the strength of the magic user. But because Me:t' relies on it as his vision and spent every chance he had casting it as often as he could; casting has become similar to blinking for him, just magically. his normal casting time is around 15 mins, but if he concentrates on holding the spell, he can hold it for up to an hour. It allows him to see everything as normal, in greyscale, but he can also see invisible people and things.
-Shape Shift: All j'h iah have the ability to take the form of a white rabbit. They're almost always around the size of a medium rabbit (15in long between 10-20lbs). They can take these forms at will and hold them indefinitely. While they're on earth, and are subject to the phases of the moon, they are stuck in an in-between form during the night of the new moon, and have an ethereal glow during the night of the full moon. Their ability to cast their magic isn't affected by their transformations. Though for Me:t', he has to recast his true sight after a transformation, since the spell doesn't stay active from one form to another.
[ Weakness ]
-Mortality: J'h Iah have a similar durability and immune system to regular humans
-Blind: Me:t' was born blind. He is generally able to hide this fact easily because of his true sight. But he can easily get lost in classes because he can't see what the teacher is writing on the board, or read a normal textbook. He has a braille version in his room. He just hates showing that he can't see. It's also unsettling when he's talking to someone. Because he'll stare at their faces, since he can 'see' them. But since he doesn't use his eyes to see, he just seems to be blankly staring through them.
-Can't Read: He's not illiterate, but he can't read or write...since he's blind. He has to use speech to text on his phone and computer to do every assignment, and he has a braille version of every text book, he just chooses to not bring them to class, and instead brings a normal textbook to class and stares at it while recording the teacher's lesson on his phone so that he could revisit the class later. He also can't see photos unless it's a painting with very define brushstrokes that cause the paint to raise off the canvas. But then, he is only able to see the paint, not the actual image.
-No Fine Detail: Anything 3 dimensional that has fine detail just looks blocky (think low resolution in video games). He can't make out details on flowers, or facial details. But he can learn the details easily by touching the object or person's face.
-Hemophilia: His blood doesn't clot. It's another condition that Me:t' was born with. So papercuts can be serious for him if he doesn't bandage himself. Which, because he doesn't like showing he's blind, turning pages can result in a lot of paper cuts. He regularly has several bandages on his fingers, and carries band-aides of all kinds all the time.

[ Other Random or interesting Facts ]
-Me:t' plays the violin
-because he doesn't have a gender, he's completely androgynous. So seeing him for the first time, it is easy to mistake him for a girl, and hearing him is the same way.
-He's a combination of some things I could look up regarding the religious views of the moon in both the Japanese and Egyptian cultures with just a hint of Chinese.
-A combination of Japanese and Chinese names were used, and cultural clothing is based on a combination of Japanese and Chinese. Rabbit is a moon symbol in both cultures.
Egyptian names were used, and the culture setting is more Egyptian themed(moon, lots of sand, it's a good place to look somewhat Egyptian) Me:t's name is Egyptian, as well as the name for the species. And then the bird down in the rabbit forms was inspired by Egyptian moon deities.
