Wooo ! first place! [1/2]

Gabriel removed the halter and acting like he was a big stud already the young horse made it clear that he would be a horse that would be seen. Even in his still small stature he made sure of that, letting out a shrill shriek that sounded much like the up and down voice of a adolescent boy, bordering on being a man but whose voice betrayed him. The colt dashed across the arena. As he came to the end, he made a quite impressive sliding stop that would have made even a western rider interested, and let out another shrill call. Not to call to his fosterdam wondering where she was, oh no…there was other boys here and like an elephant seal ‘beach master’ he wanted to tell everybody that could hear him who the real boss was. That the older stallions most likely wouldn’t even see him, or simply give him a good bite in his still dark rump for behaving badly, wasn’t on the colts mind. Oh, no… the girls would love him no matter their age, the colt was sure of it…they WOULD love him…if they only looked his way…

Ace had a good set of gaits already that was promising, and despite the colt being sort of a ‘mistake’ Gabriel could feel the tingle of something good in the back of his mind when he looked at the colt. Sure, he had a strong will, most likely a trait from both his parents but on the good side he had also inherit Flo’s nice head, Rome’s good legs and a good mix of both their gaits, for example Rome’s excellent trot.

The colt in the other end of the arena snorted and did a quick turn on his hind quarters. He fired of a small series of bucks like the best rodeo horse and then settled down to show off his galop along the long side of the arena. Gabriel glanced towards where the judges stood but it was hard to make any guesses. Ace was young yet, but that didn’t mean it was exciting to see what others thought of him.
