Each year they're lined up neatly in a corner while they wait for the snow to go away and for the people to return.They don't mind waiting; They have a great view over-looking a river.
In the spring they will be cleaned and spread out in a room with friendly tables.
If they are good and don't get dirty or cracked, they will survive to see another season underneath the humans.
It's a simple but good life.

Awesome picture. I was drawn to it as a thumbnail.
Great little story. When you present these to a Gallery (and you'd damn well better) you absolutely have to include the story in a little plaque next to the art. Really, the story doubles the appeal. Really. This is one of the best little stories. I am in love with it.
