Here is another color/style test for the upcoming special...I am still not convinced and will search and explore more.
I want to use the texture... but what medium?

I am still testing and am quite unsure. I am trying a lot of different things.

Personally, I really love the way your traditional art comes out; however, if that is too much work in such a small amount of time, then the digital route might be easier and less stressful.

Not necessarily, actually traditional is faster for me, so I might end up using watercolors for the slave ship but for this one I wanted to do something Flat for the characters with patterns in the background and if I paint it, it would be acrylics or markers or gouache so that option is cost effective.
