Description I have joint issues and there are days when I need a cane if I am going to do much walking around. I am also very short, 5'2" and that makes finding a cane that is a proper fit a difficult task. Everything is made for people who are much taller than me. So I decided to make my own. I wanted something that could stand up to the abuse I would give it but still be pleasing to look at when it was standing in the corner.
I got the idea for the top from a plastic halloween prop.

The main shaft is copper water pipe that I etched a random pattern on. It is completely filled with epoxy resin and weighted at the bottom with a couple ounces of copper. And I put an all terrain cane end on it.
The top is a mix of epoxy resin, plastic, glass and stone. It is solid, nothing hollow. I hand painted it with acrillic paints and sealed the whole thing after painting with another coat of epoxy.

It is a bit heavy compared to most canes, but I like the weight, it feels stable.

Bonus: It makes for a good Steampunk costume prop

It would be nice if I could, but sadly the pricetag would be rediculous for a cane. This is the culmination of about 50 hours of work and roughly $150 in materials.

Thank you Yes I have used it. This copper won't bend because it has been filled solid with epoxy. It is more solid than concrete.Β
