Bird's of prey.
This entire project is actually on a terraformed planet with slightly lower gravity and slightly higher oxygen levels. All the animals that were put their at the time had minor genetic modifications to give them the potential to evove teeth, long tails and quadrupedal locomotion.
I think the humans that put them their were trying to resurrect the dinosaurs (don't worry, i intend to develop this story further at some point)
