Description
You stood at the doorstep of Akaashi's house, not sure why you were there. In the middle of the night, you weren't sure if he would let you in.
You looked up as the door opened and Akaashi appeared in front of you, bleary-eyed and hair ruffled from sleep.
When Akaashi raised one dark eyebrow, you opened your mouth to apologise for the fact that you were there, and that you didn't know what you were doing.
You clenched your hands together in front of you. "I'm sorry. I don't know why I came here... I couldn't sleep, and I just found myself coming over here…”
"[Name]. Just come in." Akaashi cut in, his voice rough from sleep. You had been afraid that he found you annoying, but when you saw nothing but concern in his familiar blue eyes, you felt your heart warm, even though he didn’t express it.
“Pardon the intrusion…” You mumbled as you walked into his house, stepping past Akaashi, who closed the door behind you. Seeing that everything was dark, you suddenly realised that you were interrupting his sleep, and that didn't sit well with you.
“I’m really sorry that I woke—" Your sentence ended with a small yelp as Akaashi wrapped his arms around your waist and lifted you off your feet.
You didn't struggle as he carried you into the bedroom, and a small breath was knocked out of you when he dropped you on the bed.
Climbing into bed beside you, he pulled you to him and hugged you to his chest.
“You’re lucky you aren’t Bokuto. Now sleep." Akaashi demanded, resting his chin on your head.
You let out a soft laugh at the command. Your head was tucked into the hollow of his neck, and you breathed in his scent. He always smelled nice, like soap and something that was distinctly masculine. You felt your body relax, as if his warmth had chased away whatever prevented you from sleeping that night.
Maybe... maybe I just missed him and his embrace, you admitted to yourself.
After a few silent moments of listening to his even breaths, your eyelids drooped.
"I might love you, Keiji." You breathed out.
You weren't sure if he was asleep or if he had heard you, but you felt his arms slightly tighten around you as the sleep that didn't come claimed you at last.
