It's not everyone's thing, but if you like dressing up and that sort of thing, I always say give it a whirl.

Well I don't have a lot of time at Cons, I'm usually working the booth or running games or signing autographs.

I tend to not either I have to go to the US in order to cosplay most of the time. I volunteer for both of the convention chains here, and as I do guest services for one, no cosplay allowed. The other I help with the cosplay comp, so it does make it easier to dress up a bit.
