Description I've noticed a lot of people complaining about how the Democratic protests underway in various Middle Eastern dictatorships were driving up the price of gas.

It bothered me that they could be seemingly more concerned with the contents of their wallets and gas tanks than with the liberty and lives of foreigners, so I wanted to make something which would illustrate this contrast with regard to the relatively bloody revolution happening in Libya.

I'm very happy with how this cartoon turned out, and plan on submitting it to weekly cartoon round-up sections of the New York Times and USA Today this week, as well as Time Magazine and Newsweek . If you liked the cartoon, you can best show your appreciation by contacting any or all of those publications and encouraging them to pick it up, as I've found they seem to listen more to reader response than they do to me.

You can also view it on my website here , or maybe send me a couple of bucks by clicking here .

this is very good idea and overall cartoon and definitely worth publishing, but I imagine you will find difficulty in publishing it due to its concept

We're having a discussion about Libya and the United States purpose in it (a good portion believe in oil), may I have permission to use your piece of work in class?

As a primary source and a prop/aid towards my opinion (that yes the US responds to places that have resource value more often than those that don't)

YES. My teachers were complaining about how it would affect gas prices and I was simply disgusted.

Love the picture dude great drawing, love the reflection, we all forget how others still fight, with their lives, to strive for the freedoms we take for granted.

Though you lot across the pond would have a hissy fit if you had our petrol prices, Obama would be mince meat! It's £1.33 per litre -> £6.03 per gallon or in USD $9.87 per gallon considering you pay around $3.50 per gallon. You've got it sweet!

You guys have waaaaaaay better public transportation than we do, though. Our commuter train system would probably make you weep.

Yeah, it's not too bad I guess, the petrol price difference is crazy though, we do pay more tax bu i swear the companies have been hammering it, they make billions in profit, they could afford to let me fill up my car for less that my part time weekly wage!

Anyway enough petrol politics, I really like your work and do look forward to your efforts. Keep up the good work dude!

This is probably one of the most poignant political cartoons I've seen. The saying, "A pictures speaks a thousand words" completely applies to this. Good luck on your submission--I really hope it makes it!
