That was a stroke of brilliance, comparing the two methods of responding to it's corresponding WWI/WWII tactics. Blitzkrieg was frustrating/terrifying but ultimately not well thought out or successful, meanwhile strong defensive entrenchments/fortifications work quite well.
(I know the Maginot Line was in place AFTER WWI, but it inspired by the success of defensive entrenchments in WWI and was less successful in WWII due to Belgium falling to quickly...). Actually, many modern historians believe "blitzkrieg" was not something the Nazis intended, the term was first used by by a newspaper (the Times?) and doesn't appear to have been widely used by the Nazi military and was largely improvised and poorly planned since Nazi Germany's foreign policy resulted in it going to war a bit sooner than Hitler had planned... This only makes your analogy more fitting.
