Description The Last Stop. I recently bought a Bolex H16 16mm film camera and grabbed Natalie Lloyd to stand in front of the lens in a sort of loose silent narrative I slapped together. We went out to shoot it, as a test for the camera. Natalie had become entranced by the look of the Angels piece and wanted to shoot more on film.

During the setup time for my 16mm shots I handed her my trusty Canon 814XL-S Super 8 camera loaded with Tri-X, set the camera to fully automatic and asked her to shoot anything she felt like. After a few quick pointers she was wandering around during every break shooting film.

After that roll came back from the lab, I did a quick and dirty telecine on it in my office with a variable speed projector on loan from a friend and fellow Super 8 and 16mm film buff, James McCullers. I used a borrowed Panasonic DVX100 camera set to 24fps and shot a home made rear screen projection of the film.

I brought that tape into my Avid system, did a little cutting and flipped the image horizontally to fix the rear screen issue and viola, "The Last Stop" was born. I grabbed a piece of music off a web site I visit often with public domain material and put it in as the soundtrack. Oh Promise Me, sang originally for Edison/Bell Indestructible Records way back in 1910. Naturally, it was a bit noisy. A few minutes in Adobe Audition cleaned it up fairly well.
