I'm not sure how little keychain-sized MicroDOS managed to stay stuck in a bowl of cake batter and then a cake pan long enough for it to bake before anyone realized she was in there. Maybe she was in sleep mode?Related content

You're welcome! I've always thought the Cake had some significance to GLaDOS in that it was the last thing Caroline ate before she was uploaded unwillingly.

That's a headcanon I can get with. I think it's got some definite significance. Which is up to everyone's interpretation. One I heard was neurotoxin slipped into a slice of cake to subdue Caroline for the upload.

My guess is she was in sleep mode on a shelf, someone was making cake nearby, and a cat or some other incident Β knocked her off the shelf and into the batter. Since she stayed asleep until she woke up in the oven, nobody noticed. XD

Thank you. Oh I'm not stopping anytime soon. It's just I tend to post more to my Tumblr (same name as on here) than on DA these days.
Also I'm on a System Shock/SHODAN kick these days so you'll see probably way more SHODAN stuff than GLaDOS, but I've drawn quite a bit of Portal over the years. So there's a fair amount scattered about.

Go look up System Shock. She's the rogue AI villain. Basically an unethical business CEO had a hacker take her ethics constraints off, and she.....went from there. Violently. With genetic mutation experiments, cyborged space station crew members, and a lot more. She's rather known for her psychosis and god complex. And for her epic dialogue. And for doing stuff I think GLaDOS would draw the line at....

I think that's where GlaDOS got some origins from. You have to admit, it does seem like System Shock's villain was the forerunner for GLaDOS.

I do agree that SHODAN influenced GLaDOS' character design to some degree. Just like the MCP was probably the inspiration for SHODAN.
