Description This came out of staring at =psion005 's Playing With My III Balls piece and trying to figure out how to do it.

It took a few hours' heavy tinkering in Apo, since I already knew how to do the general stained-glass-box looking style from some other pieces. The trick was getting his one hint to work - LazySusan. That's also all I'm going to say about how I made this one.

This is also my first use of oversample 3, which turned out so nicely I'm probably just going to render everything at oversample 3 from now on.

Absolutely no touchup needed in Photoshop. Title and border done in PS, fractal done in Apophysis 2.08.

I decided to try a subtler text/border effect, since the fractal was just so colorful and visually gripping there. I'm not entirely sure if the negative/positive space use was the best, but cause all the colors just interplayed so nicely outside the fractal, I left the frame at where it was to show them.

These are parts of stained glass!

That stained-glass style is why I like this type of fractal right now.

This is quite possibly the best I've ever seen from you.

Then again I do have a very soft spot for Oriental visual styles. Two-dimensionality, and utilisation of form, lines and colour.

This almost resembles a screen printing, on silk.

The colours are just stunning

More "hand made" in structure and presentation than anything I've ever seen from you

Thank you.

I appreciate the critique.

And yeah, it took me quite a while to build this one from scratch in Apo. Mostly becuase I was trying to emulate something I had seen (=psion005 's III Balls piece) with very few hints on how to do it. So in a way it's more handmade than something I just tossed together for the hell of it.

I've got a series coming up, as I saved various stages of the original fractal in its construction, and can build new ones off it. LUMINANCE and BRILLIANCE, both of which you'll see in your watch, are part of this series. I have one more which needs a better colorscheme before I can render it, and then I pretty much have it finished up. Unless a fifth somehow develops...

Anyways, glad you liked it.

I think all the hard work paid off magnificently

Thank you. It's probably my favorite fractal right now, just for the "built from scratch" factor.
