Description This is the sequel to Swirled, which was built on params by =TwilightAmbiance . I've had the params for the original Swirled lying around, and every time I tinker with them, I see dozens of potential new fractals.

So expect a series of some sort out of this one. I'll probably do two or three more, then leave it alone.

Anyways, Apophysis 2.08beta2, lettering in Photoshop.

Enjoy!

Very cool. I like the high contrast of the black background and the yellow and blue colours.

Thanks. Yeah this particular set of parameters is very minimal on the grain. It's one reason why I like it.

In fact, it's grainier in Apophysis, and when it comes out in render, I'm always amazed at how clean it comes out.

A beautiful work, Chrome. I just started with Apophysis 2.02, myself; my success seems to depend largely on luck. How in the world do people control it in this way?

You might want to start asking around the Apophysis chatrooms on the dAmn network, as well as looking up tutorials on DA's search. Both will give you a hand, as it's a bit hard to explain all the features in here.

I will say this: One of the best ways to control and manipulate a fractal is to click on the little black box with the triangles on it. This is the triangles editor, and it'll let you do things with fractals that fiddling with Mutations and different variations just won't let you do.

Generally, for me it's a combination of picking specific variations that produce very specific shapes, and then twiddling them in the Triangle Editor.

That's the general gist of how I play with fractals, and I think it'll help you get a better handle on them.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I've found the triangles, and have been playing around with them. The chat rooms sound like they might be of use; Thank you, Chrome.
