Description

Or, rather, Bee v.3. Here is Bee v.2 , for comparison purposes. And, for "initial concept" purposes, here's Bee v.1 .

I did not actually intend to make the bee a third time. If you look at the original concept, the bee's skin is yellow and not human-looking. The skin has gotten less yellow and more human-looking with each iteration. I feel something is getting lost. Unfortunately, as I worked on finishing up the actual game sequences which involve the bee, I realized I needed a new pose/image ... and opened up my old scene files ... and found that the bee's skin was lost.

This is because of something I didn't understand about Skin Builder back in Feb/March, which has come to bite me on the ass with other re-renders. I am kind of nuts about not letting lots of temp files take up tons of disk space, so when I see a "clean out temp files" option in Skin Builder, naturally I'm going to use that, right? Except ... that cleans out the actual generated skins. The ones you just built. The ones that are being called upon as a resource for the character. So the next time you open up the scene file, you get a whole lot of file not founds and a skinless character.

So the bee had to get a new skin for the new pose (which I'll post next), and now the skin didn't match the one in Bee v.2 so I had to redo that image to match, and that is how we end up where we are today.
