I love clockwork. Yes. I dont agree with the criticism, explicit trans characters are very needed and this is your story, i think fans forget a lot that they dont own these characters
the one thing i will say is i wouldnt be comfy with my bud yelling that im trans/gay/etc. Across a whole cafeteria of people? Maybe garret is and thats her perogative. Its a personal preference. Just because I wouldnt like it doesnt mean garret has that insecurity. She's old and prolly very secure in herself. She doesnt need random ppl's validation. A good little note on her personality and also funny

Yeah, that's definitely a thing I thought a lot about, and I eventually considered explicitly communicating that Garret's trans to be worth it. Garret's personally cool with it, but definitely not everyone would be; sadly I didn't have a place onscreen to show that.

Question, why did Clockwork have to call her 'trans mom'? It just seems unnecessary, plus leaving it out could have left more room for interaction in the fanbase to speculation of her being trans, which, frankly, really isn't a big deal anyways?? Just let her exist without living the label 'trans', its not very appealing and is only a small detail, certainly not something to be announced to a room of strangers if you ask me.

Most people don't want to "speculate" a character's gender identity and feel better having a confirmed trans character. As you said, it's just a small detail, it's not like her entire character revolves around this.

Yes, Liz has confirmed that Garret is comfortable with being called that. But next time I suggest that you don't call the mentioning of a trans character "unappealing", it was a piece of harmless dialogue and representation in stories is hard enough to come by as it is.

Thank you. It is possible to respect people who want to identify as non-binary and still acknowledge the fact that there isn't any scientific basis for it. I'm not religious, but I respect people who are religious.
Personally, I just find it a bit offensive that people who experience little to no dysphoria (usually they just go against gender norms) trying to put themselves at the same level as transgender people who see a penis and want it to be gone (or see nothing there and want a penis). Like, if you have a penis/vagina and you're perfectly fine with your penis/vagina, who are you to act like you're trans?

Being trans can be unappealing, mentioning trans characters isn't. For plenty of people it's comforting to have characters they can relate to. I'm just sick of criticisms over something so simple that just serves as a purpose of representation?

Or even outside of sexuality or gender, why didn't you comment it on say, the page where elliot and riga argue about their ages and their heights?

Okay, well, you have a right to your opinion. I don't think stories need to be 100% about fulfilling the plot; I'd always rather have confirmed representation than reader speculation. I don't think people's identities need to be plot devices to be brought up in story. Also Clockwork being nb is, in fact, important to the plot, and important deeply to their character and development.
I appreciate you trying to critique me, even if I don't really agree with your critique.
