Request for of her character Cherry, he's just romping around in the snow. Thinking of making requests a once a week thing for the first to reply to each journal, yes/no?Anyway! I really tried to make him look like an Akita inu, I hope I did okay! Another shot at the fur texture technique I used on my little painting of Casper for Jolyn. I still want to try more styles of painting. Also, once I have access to a scanner I will update this file

Hey, this is Reesieroo coming from ProjectComment and i am here to critique your work.
This is a very well detailed and adorable piece, but there is some improvement that could be made to make it better.
Vision: I love the mix of bright oranges and soft grays for this peice. It gives it a snowy atmosphere, which I like. I also love the anatomy on his body too. The neck though, could be made a little longer to look more Akita like. I also suggest making the eyes smaller to make it more realistic, if thats what your going for. I love the detail of the nose and muzzle. You also nailed the front view well, I cant even do that!
Originality: I have seen many pictures of strong looking dogs standing feircly in the snow, but I love the idea of an Akita instead of a husky.
Technique: I LOVE the way you did the fur. Its very well detailed as well as the snow on the ground. I also love the way you blended the orange and the white for his coat color. Im not sure about the placement of the shading though, it seems like its coming from the top with the snow on the ground, but when I look at the dog, it seems like its coming from the front. i suggest maybe having a definite light source next time. You could also add some white out to make hightlights on his spikes.
Impact: This peice gives me the feel of a fierce, but playful dog, and thats the Akita's personality. The snow on the ground gives ita calm feel as well too.
Overall, I love the detail of this piece as well as the color scheme and realism feel, but with the tips I gave you, it will get better. I give it a 7.5/10

Thank you so much! Yeah I neglect light sources too much, I end up focusing on just the texture so thank you for noting this, it's something I need to stop avoiding. Yeah my style is somewhat cartoony but even so, the eyes are really quite large. Il will keep that in mind

I think you could maybe have add shadows and more in the backround like trees or something.
But other than that its amazing love how you did the snow and the fur.

Thank you! You are right, the empty background could have used something more, and the shadows could have given it more dimension. I added texture but no depth. And, your English is fine
