Honestly, I just start painting what I see in my imagination and I put it to canvas. I don't really have a specific way of doing any of my artwork. I simply build it from scratch. Sorry I can't be of more help but I've only been doing art for a year and 10 months now.Β

hm, I have to admit that because of you I tried to paint my first galaxy in acryl - just to understand how difficult it is....
I do not even know where to begin!!!
I think I would be very happy to get some guidance
how did you do the structure on the left bottom corner?
do you use paper to put on th ewet colors?
I think it would be cool to see a timelapse of the process

how do you paint the stars?
and how did you work on that diffuse area?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Defiant2Death In reply to Andorada [2013-09-11 19:47:56 +0000 UTC]

I flick white paint in various areas to show depth of the universe, denser areas for belts or groups of stars. I flick the paint in rounded motions to show a 3D aspect to arms of stars that will help show motion. I then diffuse the paint with water to show cloudiness depth to colored nebulas.....

somehow the difusion you made in some places look a bit like using a sponge, or so?

Good eye. Yes I use torn sponges of various porousnessΒ

hm, I worked on a galaxy, but somehow I do not get something...
I wonder what you would suggest...

Honestly I wish I could tell you. But I'm no teacher. I simply put what's in my head onto canvas and often times find myself shocked at the results. I apologize I cannot be of further assistance.Β

*-* And suddenly the MassEffect-Galaxy theme runs through my head...
IΒ΄m deeply impressed of the little purple nebula in the left corner! Its not the main-motive, I know, but its so wonderfully textured...I leaves me breathless...

Andorada In reply to Ganjamira [2013-09-05 06:17:30 +0000 UTC]

I totally agree with you! also the background and the outer side of the central object are wonderfully made!!

I love Mass Effect. One of my favorite games. Thank you so much, im ecstatic that you like you.
It was completely coincidental, but I noticed in the purple nebula in the corner, at the center it looks alot like a skull that has sharp teeth. It was a little creepy when i found it. I believe your subconscious comes out in your work. Time and time again, i notice how often my works come from the far reaches of my mind, often the dark ones.

Ganjamira In reply to Defiant2Death [2013-09-07 22:15:03 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, its a masterpiece! x3

Thats amazing! I saw it and thought "it looks like coincidence and yet not...", thats really cool!
I think pictures like this are like clouds - we see details, forms and motives that are slightly related to our deepest selves.
