If there were ever a series that needs a second chance at live action it'd be The Inheritance Cycle. That movie while not the most disappointing adaptation of a thing I love( picture a not blue arrow tatoo for that) was poorly done. I could go on and on about how the Elves , Dwarves, and Urgals looked no different then humans. How they treated the books overall story and plot like suggestions. How the casting was near perfect (Arya's actor couldn't be bothered to have black hair) and wasted on such a terrible attempt.
But in reality this was just the first time I witnessed a series I loved not get the love it deserved(Mortal Kombat Annihilation doesn't count because I didn't know what quality was yet). This was based on on the same Viking and celtic cultures That J.R.R. Tolkien used to make The Hobbit and The lord of the rings series. The difference from those books and the cycle being their was jus well..... MORE. Its got more dragons, more magic users, more elves, more dwarves, more original species, more battles, more leaders/peoples coming together to form an army. On that note (just my opinion) I think The Inheritance Cycle is somewhat of a PG-13 compromise between Game of Thrones and Tolkien's work. It has George RR Martins love/need of realistic medieval warfare ,politics, how killing makes people feel. Then you got Tolkien's magic users, mythical creatures, adventure dialed up. Bottomline Christopher Paolini was barely an adult when the movie came out. He didn't put his foot down enough and just blindly trusted the movie people.
I envision a 14-16 episodes a season 2 seasons per book situation. It'd be Rated TV-14 at maximum TV PG at minimum. It needs to have just as much kick as Captain America: Civil War or The Mandalorian. It cant be as graphic as Game of thrones or it wouldn't be true to the series. My lines in the sand all main and secondary main characters included, and Oriks relationship with Eragon must exist. Visually the movie was pretty close with Saphira, Zar'roc, the magic things like that. NOTHING ELSE
