In all honesties, I really hate yaoi, yuri, and all otherΒ related counterparts that I always run into online. A lot of people like putting Ed and Envy together, which makes me sick; they're HALF-BROTHERS! Yes, yes, I know in the manga they're not realated and junk, but I only got 17 volumes deep in high school since that's all that was donated at the time. I don't even know...like ItaSasu? They're BROTHERS but everyone seems to ignore that fact. And the relationship is abusive af. I just don't like Edvy, not really an edwin fan,but that's way better. Plus it never said that Ed was gay or even Bi, (im not homo in the least)

No it's never stated anywhere in quite a few anime whether a character is gay or not (in most cases it can be rather obvious), but people will like what they like. Β Hell if people don't like a certain pairing, they seem to ignore that doujin and fanfiction exists so they start petitions XD

I'm sorry if I sounded like I said " gay romance is bad" but I really should have said is " no fandom is safe from raging yaoi fangirls" I don't have a problem with people with people who ship whoever they want. Like you said, you're gay therefore you like gay couples more, for me I consider myself pan and I like hetero and lesbian romances because its a romance that I could be involved in ( if that makes sense, I suck at explaining stuff). I just really dislike the yaoi fangirls who are rude and disrespectful to people who have other ships. Now I don't think its cool if someone goes and flames a yaoi pic or fanfic that someone worked hard on, but I find that the majority of disrespectful people are yaoi fangirls and if they see one of their fave male characters being paired up with a female OC or female canon they're like " MARY SUEEE!!111" and go on an immature rage fit.

That being said, just because I don't like yaoi doesn't mean that I don't think there should be more respresentation of LGBT people in media, and the side characters who are gay and aren't in a same-sex relationship don't actually cut it... why not have the main character of a novel/movie/tvshow/comic be gay?
