Description
Пикник на обочине
Roadside Picnic is a Russian science fiction novel written in 1972 by Boris and Arkady Strugatsky. It forms the loose basis for Andrei Tarkovsky's 1979 masterpiece, Stalker and the game series of the same name.
After extraterrestrials land on earth and subsequently leave, their spacecraft leave highly irradiated and destroyed areas called "Zones" littered with remnants of their technology. There's a black market for these alien-parts, and "Stalkers" risk their lives scavenging in these reality-bending zones for the monetary gain and notoriety.
