Description Deep within this atomic confinement,
you seek your purpose, your life's consignment.
Awaiting on spheres swirling above,
planetary fates speak to mortal loves.

Dancing the Charleston in heavens aloft
stars' light footprints upon water embossed.
Tracing the patterns with hungering eyes,
reflections of stardust on water arise.

(Mirrored soul of aspirations divine?)
Trapped in impermanence, stars can't align!
Mimicked by matter, by gravity plagued,
this manifestation of Zion profaned.

Empyreal dreams are never achieved
until Death visits and they are bequeathed.

Ai, how did that apostrophe sneak in! Thanks it does need to disappear, Well, I'm working from the protestant writings that do conceive of hell as based upon Gehenna, not the Greek underworld (so less influence from Dante et. al.). I do find the conceptualization of a tiered hell and heaven intriguing, however I don't think it's in accordance with current Christian (modern) conceptions, which are increasingly influenced by science, however much many try to deny this. The more I read, the more I realise how much our individuality leads us to interpretations. Even of religious matters. (In this I think I would be deemed heretic, I suppose ) Thank you for your wonderful commentary!

gehenna was a literal garbage dump outside of jerusalem, well known to Jesus' listeners.  Jesus made frequent use of illustrations, parables, metaphors, even hyperbole when teaching (yes, he was the best!)  in any case, gehenna was a fitting metaphor for eternal destruction, since fire destroys completely.  in other words, eternal death with no hope of a resurrection. further study will help to establish a clear link between heathen mythologies related to the underworld and Christendom's version, though like you say, more information now available is causing many to rethink hell.  interestingly, the current official teaching on hell from Catholicism is that hell is not a burning, fiery place of torment, but rather eternal separation from God.  interesting, hmmm?

true, no one can fully comprehend heaven, except upon the realization.  however, the english word hell is a poor translation of the greek word hades, which in it's most basic sense simply means "the abode of the dead."  the notion of an underworld of eternal torment is of heathen origin, later grafted into so-called Christianity.  the Bible teaches that the dead are "... conscious of nothing at all..." (Ecclesiastes 9:5-10).  it would be worth your time to do the research, you being the studious type and all.  regarding stanza 2 line 1.  thinking it would be more correct to drop the possessive form of heaven to simply heaven?  unless you wanted to change it to heaven's loft?
