]-Awakening
After almost a year without activity, this is the Awakening of the "Popocatepetl" a volcano located in México.
December, 2005.
**Note (July 2008): Three years have passed, now I add borders to my photos, now I edit them, now I have a fancy-pants camera, but looking back I think I'm still the same guy that looked outside the window at 6 in the morning to see this happening and without worrying about the cold, went to the roof with his tiny 3.2MP Sony Cybershot P72 -his first camera ever- and was amazed by how beautiful nature was and was starting to understand that photography was something he wanted to do forever.
This is a resubmission of my first photo here at deviantART, appropriately called "Awakening".

Después de casi un año de estar dormido, hoy despertó el Popocaté petl.
Diciembre del 2005
**Nota (Julio 2008): Casi 3 años han pasado, ahora ya edito mis fotos, ya les pongo marquito, ya las firmo, ya tengo una cámara decente, pero creo que sigo siendo el mismo chavo que esa fría mañana se despertó y al ver esto desde su ventana se subió al techo sin importarle el frio y con su pequeña Sony Cybershot P72 de 3.2MP sacó fotos de este bello espectáculo de la naturaleza. Aprendiendo de paso que la belleza está en todos lados, y que sacar fotografías era algo que quería hacer por siempre.
Esta es una re-edición de la primera foto que subí aquí a deviantART, apropiádamente llamada "Despertar".

That is so amazing that you happened to take this picture and then realize that photography is your calling. Nature is so beautiful, no matter how scary and thrilling. This picture shows all 3 traits! Marvoulous shot!

I took this photo right from my window back in Mexico, one cold morning of December, with my first camera.
Funny that you decided to comment on it today, because yesterday that I was organizing my gallery I saw it and was planning to resubmit it, this was my first photo here in deviant, and it's totally unedited, without border or anything... I bet it can improve a little bit.

The photo is a real eyecatcher. I live next to a volcano but it hasn't done this! I think it's technically correct, the haziness and thickness of the air are accurately captured. I don't see a problem with depth of field/aperture etc., the volcano is large and you are at a good distance and the air is filled with material. The top of the cloud shows the exposure is dead on perfect. Good work! _lac

Thanks you very much... it's one of my early photos. I took it with my first camera ever, a 3.2MP cybershot, so forget about the aperture, speed and so... It was fully automatic so I cannot take the credit for those things, only for the composition and for getting up that day at 6AM to take it.

Cool photo here. If you own a copy of photoshop you might want to try bringing out the blue some to create a little bit more distinction between the sky and the volcano.
When doing this try and go for subtle manipulation, if you over-process an image it comes across as less of an impact and more like someone playing around. Obviously it's personal preference. Try and come up with a level you're comfortable with, and, expand upon it.
On a technical note, if you have manual control over your camera, you want to set a smaller aperature (somewhere around f/11-16 depending on light) to get a sharper picture of the mountain, landscape, etc...

Thanks... this is one of my early pictures so it's an unedited one. I shot this one with a little Sony P&S... my first camera ever so I didnt have ANY manual controls 
Now that you mention it, I will try to edit this one a little... I think it's worth it.

Deberias de intentar otro tipo de fotos como las de terror, y las hice por que soy amante de las peliculas de terror y pues esa se me ocurrio despues de ver la pelicula de silent hill
