FULLVIEW! PREVIEWS FUZZY!

the pic that left my friend speechless! all she could say was "damn!" this was the one i told you about earlier.

this image has been stuck in my head since before Christmas. i was gonna save for Photoshop so i could use color but it was screaming to get out, so i figured id do a quick sketch as a test run. well, a test run turned into the real thing. this took up every inch of the paper. the light effect came from my new toy, the kneaded eraser. same with the dark street. i shaded the whole thing black, smudged it to get it even, and erased away. overall this took 5-6 days. the dragon alone took 2-3. he did lose some of his details in the shading, but it still looks ok. and thas a lil girl there. the lamp post is a lil crooked, but i didnt notice until it scanned.

your probably wondering about the title. well, theres an orchastra called the Trans-Siberian orchestra. you might have heard their songs without realizing it. if you know the video with the rigged up house with the lights going off in time with a song, thas them. thas "Wizards in Winter" heres a link to it on Youtube in case you havent seen it. anyway, another song "the Lost Chrismas Eve" is what inspired it. it hs a haunting tune and the guy singing adds to it. i kept imagining a large ice dragon and a lil girl on a sidewalk in a lonely dark wintery city. ill give you the lyrics but you should hear the song. heres another youtube vid with it. [link] ( to be honest i didnt watch the whole thing but its the first one shown and its the song. ( thas the album to the CD in the very beginning)) anyway, i interpreted it that way with the dragon symbolizing Christmas, because they describe it as if it was a tangible (solid, seeable) thing, like a personified quality. so ya.

im most likely gonna frame this one.
