Okay, so, not only am i bad at thin boys and coloring clothing, but I have now found that drawing height difference is crazy hard //lays// AND AS ALWAYS mamo's hair color got fucked up between my tablet and phone, trying to get pinks and purples the right shade on Amoled display is killer. Looks perfect on the tablet, then looks 10 shades different on normal display, tries to make it 10 shades different on tablet so it looks right on normal display and it ends up 20 shades different. Hnnngghh.Anyway I hope it's still helpful~

Oml I've had a few people post commissions I ordered and the hair is like 10 shades off dispite me having palettes on all my ref sheets, and all the other colors look perfect. Different displays must have more of a change that we think. Kinda weird to think your purple oc could be a pink oc to other people Lol!

Right? I don't think people actually look at refs. I make it a point to save the ref, open it in my drawing program, and use the select tool to get the exact perfect shade. Usually >w<
And trying to work with a color description is unbearable. For example, I say Roen's eyes are emerald.... butttttt to be entirely technical, is eyes are more of a neon green. Emerald is a little more blue. (and yet I still haven't stopped, for some reason..... bad self. so bad.)

Right? I love getting art, no matter what quality. I only b-blank about art if I paid for it, and they ignored specific requests I had about it. Otherwise, hey, it's a gift, I appreciate it!
No kidding. What's worse is when you don't learn your lesson and keep drawing them stuff, and they KEEP doing it, even when you tell them to shut up and get over it. Like, the smallest freaking stuff. Oh, the hair should have a small piece hanging in that eye, or her ears are a different shape, or those eyes are the wrong color because blue-green isn't the same as blue and those type only have blue or purple or pink eyes, or you forgot one of the 27 hearts on her sweater STFU IT'S FREE CRAP IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN GO AWAY
I once accidentally drew a male chara as a female because it was impossible to tell and he was wearing a skirt. *completely random story* But that's the worst I've screwed up, and I only did that ....twice.

Oh geez that's so easy to do~ I haven't screw up drawing a gender *because 99% of the characters I get given are male anyway* but I have on multiple occasions commented "ahhh I love her!" Only to get the "it's a boy..." reply from the artist. That shit makes me feel terrible lol

It's like, if every single time you drew something for me, I was like, 'yeah, it's really cute, thanks.... but he shouldn't be smiling, because of blah blah blah, and this guy that you drew for me that didn't have anything resembling a ref sheet shouldn't have eyes that big and blah blah freaking blah.' It's enough to just crush you.

Lol! It is, I've learnt to not bother drawing for people like that now~ I even have a rule on my comms that I won't take orders from people again if they are unpleasant to deal with, which can range from not commenting or faving at all to making me feel like crap once it's done by saying shit like "thanks I guess". I mean, having mons and Points sitting around to buy stuff is nice, but nobody's money is worth feeling like crap for. Especially when they buy a $4 halfbody and expect to get the absolute best piece of art any form of human being can create lol.

That's one of the reasons I don't offer comms very often. Even though my art can clearly been seen through my gallery, which I always have potential buyers reference, I still feel as though they're expecting my absolute best, even for 50p stuff.
