A beautiful explosion off colour!

This painting is so beautiful!

I really think you shouldn't call this a sketch! It is just what a watercolour-painting should be: A light and effortless painting that lives of the shiny effect of its colours.

The bird is quite realistic, though I have the feeling, that the proportions of the head should be a little different.  The forehead of many is quite steep, and then the head continues rather flatly towards the backhead. I think the eye is a little too close to the beak and the head would have to be longer as well, especially since the green feathers don't seem to be a part of the core part of the body, but standing up from it. Therefore the head looks to short/narrow. I hope it is understandable what I mean. Also the eye does not look so much like a parrot's eye.

The colours of this bird are amazing. They harmonise so well together! I love the pastel tones that flow into each other.
The background is awesome as well. So dynamic and simple at the same time. Really, great wor on that.

I think the composure of the painting would look even better, if the parot's head was situated in the upper third of the painting. It is just, that when seeing any kind of portraits, we automatically assume that the head should be in the upper part. However you are breaking this hear, the head is slightly lower than the center of the painting.

All in all, I think this painting is really fantastic, great work!
