Description
This is the arena gameboard of MAGE WARS!The print size is 24" x 32", and it's by far the most detailed piece I've done.
The game board is the ancient arena where the duels of the mages (= players) take place, and it's divided in 12 zones (tiles).
I began working with a tiled image of floor tiles as a base, and then I started adding "layers" of dirt and destruction by painting over that, creating misplaced, damaged, broken and missing tiles, moss, etc, bit by bit. The goal was to create an ancient, battle-worn arena.
There's also a ton of other cool details and elements for the players to explore while playing, such as scattered blood stains, weapons, corpses, skeletons of fallen mages and summoned creatures, painted runes and signs of rituals, marks from previous battles and much more.
Mage Wars is a customizable strategy game of dueling mages. Players take on the role of powerful mages, stepping into the arena to battle for supremacy.
