Happy belated Lunar New Year>v< I wish you all luck, health and most of all, happiness for this upcoming year (It sounds so weird that you get to say New Year wishes at this time of the yearXD). I know the (Lunar) New Year Eve has passed for 13 days but I still have to finish and upload this piece (or else I wouldn't be able to bring myself to draw other pieces>v<). Beside it's been so long since I drew anything with Vietnam-related so this is the opportunity I didn't want to or can't miss>v<
Let me tell you about the idea of this piece. This is the combination between the original Vietnam character (which belongs to Hidekaz Himaruya) and an Apricot and Peach tree. (Yellow) Apricot blossom and Peach blossom are the main flowers that represent the Tet holiday in Vietnam. You won't feel Tet in the air if your house doesn't have at least one tree of these flowers. Her lower half is the tree trunk and the flowers came out from the horns. The horns are not hers (of courseXD), it's coming from the turban she's wearing. - An example for modern ones: www.chobinhtay.gov.vn/Website/… The shape is more diverse, the materials can be other than fabric (It can even be metal and just so you know, the black one I just showed you is made out of actual hair O,O),...
Because I've failed on trying to duplicate the traditional one, I gotta tell you that the one she's wearing is indeed modernXD
And usually she would wears a 2-flaps ao dai but in this piece, I got her an 4-flaps ao dai (yes, it does exist and it... also a modern one as wellXD).
In the end, I just want to thank you for the lovely support in the last year. I really appeciate it and I hope to bring you more in the future.
