“You won’t get away with this!” Amethyst Avenger called out as she pounded on one of the transparent walls of her trap as hard as she could given the power dampening collar she wore.

“But I already have,” Laughed the synthesized voice coming through the speakers in the wall. “Even now you should be feeling the beginning effects of the Medusa gas you have been breathing since you activated my trap. They tell me the first effects is a growing stiffness and difficulty moving your extremities. As you continue to breathe in the gas, the stiffness will spread to the rest of your body.”

As the voice spoke, Vivianne could already feel the stiffness in her fingers and toes that was quickly starting to travel up her hands and feet. She tried to restore the dexterity by kicking and pounding on the clear wall as she looked around the case for a weak point she could use. Her felt her frustration and desperation growing as she felt her body continuing to stiffen. “I..will..find..a..way..to..get..free.”

“You are starting to show symptoms of stage two of the Medusa gas, your movements has started to slow as your body metabolizes the gas. Even if I were to release you now, it would take several weeks until you returned to normal.”

Vivianne struggled to understand why her captors voice had begun to sound faster and higher pitched. They had to be messing with her mind as she pressed her hands against the glass and moved her foot back to kick the glass. “Y..o..u..r…..b…l…u….f….f…..i……n……g!”

Amethyst Avengers captor zoomed in on her face as her movement and speech continued its rapid slowdown. In just a few minutes the gas would reach saturation point in her body and she would be in a perfect state of suspended animation. She watched her start to blink as all movement of her lower body slowed to an almost imperceptible movement. she watched her eyes slowly open and after several minutes realized that it had been her last. Smiling in triumph she turned to her assistant sitting beside her, “Give her another hour on the gas and then then vent the chamber and pose her for display in case 12.

Inside the case Amethyst Avenger’s mind slowed, and started to drift, her last thoughts of being nothing more than a pretty display piece forever unmoving and content to remain motionless.
