Getting to that memory spot wasn't easy with all the Guardian Stalkers around.

They certainly do that. *shiver* I remember this one time I was running after a fallen star and ended up way too close for the Guardian Stalker. Sadly, even though I had somehow ran past a sleeping Hinox without waking it, I just ended up getting that Stalker's notion when I was trying to leave the area. *sigh*
Or the time with Decayed Guardians when I was at night time first planning my way to a Tower, got freaked out by StalMoblin and just took off to the gliding to the Tower and ended up with my heart in my throat because of the Decayed Stalkers trying to shoot me down from climbing the darn Tower. 
Even though I'm okayish in hunting even Stalkers down, those still freak me out and get me to run if I end up taken by surprise by them. =/
