Description
First SERIOUS color pencil drawing. The facial proportions are off on this one but you cant tell
I was close to abandoning this but decided not to waste all the hours that I put in it. Self Portrait 11X14in.

This one turned out great. Amazing composition, wonderful depth (especially with the lack of dramatic lighting), good use of color....all together very well done.

oh WOW! The shirt is really well done and especially for coloured pencils. That angle is really difficult to draw (for me anyway) and you've done it so well.. you've even pulled off that lok of concentration beautifully. I love the beard too!

I hate colored pencils. They always break on me, and I don't think I really understand how to use them anyway. This is great, though. Beautiful colors. But I think I'll stick with watercolor

this is really good. I love how you used color, i myself am terrified of getting anywhere close to it. When I first saw it, it seriously looked more like a photo. Again, great, amazing, job.

Looks good Pallis. I think you did a great job with the skin tone and the darks look very convincing. I agree with the comment on the gloves, the shadows could be a bit more saturated but then again, I haven't even tried colored pencils, so what do I know...

thanks. yeah it was pretty tough and sometimes frustrating on getting the right shades especially using 2 different lead softness. i didnt think it would matter but surely does

This looks really great! I wouldn't say the face looks too long, but then again, I don't know what you look like, so maybe to you it seems long. The t-shirt looks fantastic. I think the gloves could use some work, but I'm no expert. I've only done a couple of colored pencil portraits myself, it's really fun. I agree, you learn alot with your first real effort, I know I did. My next one I'm sure will be much better than my first. I really do like yours, the skin tones look fantastic.

thanks. yeah comparing this w/ the ref pic, my face is out of proportion. when i did the pencil sketch i tried to be as accurated as i can without measuring from point to point. i figured it would be good practice plus it just takes too long
