Description Watercolour, got bored always doing something on the computer, wanted a relaxing break. Plus, I like those cold autumn days where the sun's out but it's still bitingly cold and the smell of rotting vegetation and dying summer is heavy on the air. Makes me happy, it does.

This picture is beautiful. I really love your watercolor pieces the best I feel like you really enjoy doing them and you should do more. Plus they all have tons of beautiful colors . Anyway I really love how vibrant you decided to make this everything contrasts with each other but at the same time all meshes well as a whole. I specially love how blue you made the sky. The touch of sketchy black lines ( I dont know what to call it lol) make it kind of edgy and different and I like it. Overall I give it a whopping 5 stars because you are awesomeee! haha

I really don't know what to tell you about negative comments I guess maybe the bit of green on the log kind of bothers me? But at the same time I like it makes it feel like a REAL artist made this. And maybe not so much white with the clouds maybe more blue?

But yeaaaah...

Heh, well then!
I actually really enjoy watercolour. I just never have enough time due to college and life and all that jazz. If you think I have the potential though, then thank you. This piece in particular I'm not all the fond of, but then I am my own worst critic. Great. Now you have me wanting to work with watercolour again. And I have a big piece of watercolour paper that's been silently demanding to be used...

Not in drawing, per se, but I am working towards a career in the gaming and movie industries.

I love the boldness of the colours. They're all blended together nicely to give it a very abstract feel.
I'm also more impressed that you did this with watercolour. Watercolour and I are definitely not friends.

Why thank ya! Watercolour seems to hate everyone, I've noticed. It's such a nice medium, too. All it takes is some practice, really. And some spontaneity. I've found the best pictures I like to do in watercolour are only partially planned, the rest is pure chaos.

Lol at the "makes me happy it does" in the description. The colors in this are really great. I love how vibrant they are.

I really suck at watercolors. I like more control in my drawing, and I can't seem to get it with watercolors. Seeing a picture like this really makes me wish I was good at painting with them, though.

Blah, I don't like this one at all. The only thing I do remotely enjoy is the sky, and that's it. Watercolours are fun if you can get past the messiness. Or embrace the messiness. They're hard to control, and I suggest if you really want to get to know them some more to just up and relinquish your control. Watercolour paint cannot be controlled as easily as acrylic, and it's best to just let it wander and do its own thing. It's that chaos that it creates that yields some of the best effects. I didn't plan this picture at all. All I wanted was a blue sky and some trees to represent autumn. Everything was sort of created on the spot, and while I didn't control the colour, I showed it where to go, that's it.

Mini rant, that was.

I think the orange on the ground is tooo powerful, but the tree to the right looks amazing. I just like the colors! Most of your gallery is grey-scale, so this one really stood out and caught my attention.

Delta-Hexagon In reply to MistressPaco [2010-01-05 18:51:09 +0000 UTC]

It just might be. At least it's not the same shade as the trees. Burning ground! Run for the hills! Oh hell, they're burning, too!

Next time I'll be sure to tone down the intensity. Watercolours aren't exactly easy to use.

The colors are very vibrant. Autumn is nice, but for me it kind of gets overshadowed by winter.

So much slowly dieing beauty, and then winter descends with its blanket of cold white and mutes everything?

We don't really get snow where I live, so I guess it is the equivalent of late autumn elsewhere. But yes, there's just something about the emptiness that I like.

Mmm, I know how you mean. How the deadness of it all saps all sound and all you can hear is the weather itself. It makes me happy just thinking about it. Unfortunately I don't get all that much snow here, either. Mostly just rain and slush. But at least I had a white christmas, if only because it was foggy while it was raining!

i LOVE this, but i wish you could use a less-obnoxious border, it really takes away from the beauty of the picture.

Delta-Hexagon In reply to thecongress [2009-11-21 02:09:09 +0000 UTC]

The whole black inside white inside black with a fadey fade?
If I can find the original I just may. I dunno, I felt a border was in order when I cleaned it up in photoshop.

yeah, i'm sure it would look nice with a border, but i just think that a simpler one would set it off better.
