little known fact we have technology that allows us to make black holes here on earth but the resulting black holes are near microscopic and incapable of drawing in enough matter to sustain itself and thus evaporate before they destroy the world.....very nice concept i can think of a million uses that i would personally use this for!

Ah yes, indeed! Black holes are curious little things; I remember people getting terrified that the LHC would blow up the planet with micro black holes. And yess I think a black hole in a jar would be a very convenient around the house item.
