I realized later that you might have been asking if the impasto affect can be achieved using acrylic paint...? If that is your question, then I would have to say that I know very little about acrylic paint, having only attempted to use them a couple of times with very mixed results. I do believe that there are mediums and additives such as modelling paste and impasto gels that can be mixed with acrylic paint to achieve the impasto/raised effect and show the knife and/or brush work of a painting.
