Description Oil on Board 24X36

While not a master copy, the basic pose and attempt at the fabric is based upon a painting of Christ ascending (descending?) holding a flag - which I haven't been able to find.

I liked it very much, that's why I commented. It's a sublime image. I'm sorry if I have trouble making myself understood. English is not my first language and Scandinavian people are perhaps a bit blunt.

I agree with Prince-Notebook. The way you transition the subject to the background from dark to light values is phenomenal!

I especially like on his right arm and side, how subtle the forms of his muscles and veins are. I do also like how you do that black background, but have things(hair, maybe clothing) a dark brown that almost fades into it.
