Scoops and Ethos are more or less huddled in their shared home, striving to keep the house well-lit even when going to bed and despite harboring no children. Ethos in particular has been concerned about the Banshees, whereas Scoops has focused mostly on recovering, both physically and mentally after his foolish attempt to search for the Autumn Goddess when barely healed enough to walk. They can hear a banshee in the distance--but who knows how close one of these ethereal beasts really is?--and so when the fireplace goes out, Ethos attempts briefly to go light it again to ward away any Banshee tempted to enter their home... at least, until a furry rodent (seen in the foreground) scurries over her feet and startles her into a girly shriek. That in turn alarmed Scoops, who then, realizing it was a false alarm, rested against her and hugged her, too exhausted to move much more and in too much pain to endure being left alone for any amount of time.
