--The Facility (Croation)--

Like all the other dogs, Royce was taken in as a pup to be experimented on. Though he was treated better them most of the others, he was kept locked up in small glass cages. A particular glass cage were he was studied, he was hooked into multiple devices to test new abilities, though most of the experiments came out as failures except one. Telepathy, the ability to read minds. Though this ability would only ever work if Royce was connected to a telepathy device. The testing would be painful at stages, the technology was built to hack into the brain without issue or pain, though during the testing process it would damage Royces brain, hence why he has unexpected headaches and migraines. Every now and then Royce would be let out to socialise with the other dogs in the facility, he made friends though when the outbreak happened on the island and all the dogs escaped, they were never seen again. On the day of the outbreak on the island the scientists had finally cracked telepathy, using the device successfully on Royce without any interference though with the rush to escape the device broke and seemed to transfer its ability to Royce, giving him the ability of telepathic communication.
