i'm the exact opposite i get all A's and you think that would be good but it's not. My school is boring and holds me back form reaching my full potential, but i'm 2 IQ points to low to get into a gifted school.

i completely understand this i have minor dyslexia my mum is a science teacher at my school and has me put in all of the a.p. classes i try my hardest but math kills me, im not social, and i suck at sports. she gets mad because i dont fit in and id rather draw in a corner than go out and hang out with people that are fake and mean. i was to be an art major and do graphic design but she says she will never forgive me if i do something like that

I get good grades. I try my best in athletics (though I'm not very strong) I'm quiet and behave in class. NOBODY is proud of me. If only they knew........

This is so relatable.
I am somewhat auststic, but only to an extent where I actually am able to comprehend and understand what's going on. But because of this, it often makes me screw up in class and get bad grades, and I always get in trouble.

This is so relatable...it seems that lately I'm just getting dumber and dumber in school, while no one else has a problem with the stuff. It's nice to be reminded that I'm not alone. Thanks.

I'm really loving this one too, because this is like me to a T also.
I have dyslexia and I get pinned down as a 'dumb kid' a lot because I am not the tiniest bit book-smart. Yet the people I know always tell me that when I bake, write poems, or just create things, it is done with a lot of love. And thats why they like it so much. -^_^-

That was me in Physics and Chemistry. I passed it by the skin of my teeth in High School. I tried taking Physics as extra credit in my first year of University, but failed it. Didn't re-take it, but I didn't need to anyway, so it was no big deal. I just couldn't have forgiven myself if I hadn't at least tried. Passed the Chem courses I had to take by an ant's toenail. Thank goodness no repeats. Now, ironically, I may be repeating Geography courses. Geog was one of my best subjects in High School... >.>'

This is quite a sad poem, knowing some kids are judged based on their ability to spit out information that is on a higher level of knowlage that they should know, and they are forced to write and respond and solve, all on a small amount of time. Not all kids learn like that. And apperently, if you dont, your stupid. It's sad that not alot of people care to truly discover another person. To find out what they are about, how they learn, and everything like that. Everything is sorta black and white in school. I wish it was alot less pressure. Somtimes i don't understand and i feel preasured, since i'm in accelerated courses so i have to know alot of -complicated- things fast. But you know, i manage pretty well, thank goodness. I just wish it was that way for everyone...

I think my Irish teacher thinks I'm this. I've recently gone to honours, and she has most of her same class as last year who were speaking Irish all the time. So I'm here and not understanding when she says "Rinne tu dearmaid an DNTLS!" when I have only been here for about a month or two, not 2 years and 2 months.

Thank you. That student is me. The teacher would think that I would get it right away. I say I don't get it, and all they do is just say the process again. It's like trying to make someone like a type of food by making them eat a whole plate of it. They say they don't like it, and they get another whole plate of the same food that they don't like, expecting them to like it if they had it again. There are times when the student just DOES NOT UNDERSTAND. Seriously, I would completely drop math if I could.

I agree and I seriously don't understand why do I have to learn all of this useless shit? When will I actually need the formula of some chemical element, when will I EVER need to know that Newton thought this and that about the light?!?!?! WTF???? Why??? I understand that there are people who are interested in this, but I'm not! And I'm 11th grade, I think that by now I have an idea of what I wanna do in the future, why won't they let me choose??? And then they say "Well, all these grades in subjects, that don't even matter, are very important because without As you're considered stupid and not accepted in university!" ............................speechless.

I know what this is about....kinda....but rather than being amazing at things like art and writing, I'm not-too-terrible at them, good at languages and terrible at math. I'm very fond of History~ ^^

Im not superbooksmart but I am still booksmart enough to get Bs and Cs, and I fully understand your frustration, sometimes it's as if people don't want me to learn something new yet they claim they want to. I love math but Im noway near a genius at it, but it doesn't stop me from liking it. And I won't stop studying it, if you want advice from me I can say one thing: If you keep up writing poetry you could probably make a book of it, because I think your poems are the best things in your gallery. That could probably show the teachers not to underestimate you.

Yes I really do, I read a lot and I out of everyone should be able to recognize writing talent when I see it, and you have it so don't stop, who knows one day you maybe go beyond just being a talented poet on the internet to get public recognition, at least where you live. The world is smaller thanks to the internet and I have discovered lots of talented people but since the art world is harsh in general it will be hard to get recognition even if you have some talent, but don't let that stop you.
