Description
There was a lump. A rather large lump of blankets located atop one of the six beds in the Feles sixth year dormitory. It was moving, a rhythmic pattern of something rising and falling, an occasional twitch of smaller lump indicated some limb or such. Something popped out from underneath the blue comforter, it was slender, slightly tanned, and nailed. A hand obviously. Nails dug into the white pillow shown just above the lump and a groan was emitted. Wow, it seems our lump is alive. Orange-red hair was spotted, contrasting against the ocean of blue fabric quite nicely.
Blankets slid off the head quiet unceremoniously, falling into a mesh of twisted fabric. Most likely caused by tossing and turning throughout the night. Yawning slightly the figure drew their hands up towards the ceiling, an attempt at popping their back. Earning themselves a well renowned “Pop!”, they let their hands fall and swung their legs over the side of the mattress, before finally standing. Bowling pins and balls were the fabric chosen for the pair of boxers they had donned yesterday before crashing comfortably onto the pillow. Out like a light took on a whole new meaning.
White adorned the upper torso, a few curves in the chest indicated that the figure was indeed of the female gender. Stumbling slightly the girl made her way clumsily for the bathroom, once inside she went for a sink and went to wake herself up. ‘Hm….why am I the only one up?’ was the one question filling her mind. It was quite unusual, she usually had to be dragged out of the Land of Nod. Pretty much forcefully most of the time. Rising out beat pog eyes from any traces of sand and just staring at her reflection for a moment a new thought popped into her mind.
“SHIT!” she said ridiculously loudly before rushing out of the bathroom without brushing her teeth, shoving the hangings aside from the closet bed she about had a heart attack by what she saw. No one was here. She was going to be late, late too meeting the visiting school. She was so damned. “Oh….shitshit, why didn’t anyone wake me up!?” she shrieked hysterically. Staring at her bed she noticed something posted on her headrest, a note. Picking it up she quickly read it.
Lexi,
Sorry, we left, we really couldn’t wake you. Please once you get up, GET DOWN HERE!
The note was anonymous, but whoever wrote it, she currently owed big time. Racing for her bag Lexi grabbed her uniform and whatever she needed. Changing at speeds that could rival superheroes she shed the boxers changing into more feminine underwear and slipped into the blue skirt that reached to about her knees. Pretty much jumping out of the wife beater the white shirt was pulled on hastily before the black tie was done. A small crest bearing the Feles sign was just on the right hand side. Grabbing a pair of knee high white socks and a scuffed but sturdy pair of mary-janes she stood up again, a buckle was undone. "Dammit!" she said again in a loud tone, as she went to redo the annoying and sometimes taunting peice of metal.
Brushing her teeth rapidly she spit out the toothpaste while running the brush through the orange-red elbow length locks of hair. Tugging them back into a quick ponytail the girl shot out of the dorm and out onto the entrance. Running as fast as her legs would allow, she had to go down three flights of stairs. Just her luck, right? Out of breath by a quarter of the way into the final one, she kept going. A very painful stitch slicing into side. Clutching as she went down the remaining ten steps she arrived at the opposite end of the corridor. Skidding to a halt she slid slightly from the sudden drop of acceleration and walked calmly to meet up with the rest of the group. Sending a nod to Jesse, she slid into line waiting to meet up with the entering group, her heart racing. Gaining a few glares and such from the teachers nearby Alexia Noland knew things could have been worse. She could of missed the whole thing entirely.
Such a travesty that would have been.
