Description
At the age of seven, (Name) (Last Name) was diagnosed with a strange, mysterious sickness that no one knew about. (In the games, Wally's confirmed sickness is asthma, but to make it a little more interesting, it'll be an unknown disease -Jamie)
For seven years, she lived in the hospital, not knowing at all what was going on outside all around her. She didn't know that Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza had almost destroyed the world. She didn't know that her cousin, May, had become Hoenn's Princess. All she knew was that she was slowly dying, but deep in her heart, she knew she could survive.
On her fourteenth birthday, a boy with green hair was brought into the hospital. Curious, (Name) gazed at the boy, whose eyes were closed and was having trouble breathing. He looked rather pale, and looked like he hadn't eaten in days.
"Call the doctor," one of the nurses said as the boy was laid on one of the beds. Nurses ran around the hospital, taking care of this and that, and (Name) eventually became tired of watching them scurry around. She instead focused on the bed-ridden boy. I wonder what sickness he has? she wondered.
(Name) felt irritated that she was still in a hospital, although she felt just fine. She wanted to go on a Pokemon journey, just like she had been dreaming of doing since around age five.
Just then, the doctor rushed in. (Name) watched with curiosity as the doctor took a look at the boy. Finally, the doctor said to one of the nurses, "It's that disease that we have not found a cure yet for."
"What disease does he have?" (Name) blurted. The doctor looked at the (h/c)-haired girl.
"Why, (Name), he has the exact same disease as you do," the doctor confirmed.
"He'll be just fine then- won't he? I mean, I'm feeling perfectly okay right now..." (Name) trailed off as she stared at the boy.
"He'll be okay. But he'll need to stay in the hospital until we find a treatment..." the doctor frowned. "He's just having a little trouble breathing right now. We'll get him an inhaler and he'll be alright. I appreciate your concern, (Name)." He walked out of the room just as a nurse came in with an inhaler for the boy.
"It's getting late, (Name), honey, you should be getting to sleep," the nurse told (Name) as the boy's breathing became easier.
"Whatever," (Name) grumbled. She hated being ordered around like she was a little kid. She thought she deserved to be treated like any other teenage girl.
Sunlight streamed through the hospital window the next morning, and (Name) opened her eyes groggily. She heard slight snoring, and she saw the green-haired boy sleeping in the bed next to her. She recalled the events that had happened the previous night; he apparently had the same disease as she did,
When a nurse brought the (h/c)-haired teenager breakfast, the boy suddenly stirred and his eyelids fluttered open, revealing a pair od beautiful emerald eyes.
"W-where am I?" he asked sleepily. The nurse smiled at him.
"Don't be scared. You're safe now," she told him. "Your aunt and uncle brought you here last night because you were having some trouble breathing." His eyes widened.
"R-really?" he murmured. His eyes fixed on (Name). "Who are you?" (Name) let a small smile crack on her face.
"I'm (Name) (Last Name)," she told him. The boy nodded. "What's your name?"
"My name's Wally," he told her, a grin settling on his face. "And... why am I still here if I can breathe again?" he asked, faltering slightly as he looked at the nurse.
"You see, you and (Name) here have the same disease that we don't have the cure to yet. So for now, you'll have to remain in the hospital until we have the cure," the nurse explained.
"Oh..." Wally said. looking away. "Well, I hope we can become good friends then, (Name)."
"Yeah. I hope so too, Wally."Extremely suckish, I know, I know!!! I have never written a Wally fic though, so this is my first time trying to capture his character. If you have any suggestions, please state them POLITELY. Thank you. New chapter will be up soon!
