Description Finally done with the horse plush prototype. @_@ There are still some areas I want to better out and I'll attempt to do so while updating the pattern, but I won't make another prototype. So lets hope the corrections turn out alright. xD
At any rate I'm looking forward to getting started on the actual plush soon. *_*

Thank you. It's far from perfect but getting the shapes where I want them has proven to be harder than I thought. Your right, it is indeed made from felt. :3

It's an art trade that has gone a bit overkill to say the least. xD;

I've made a compilation from the creation of the head and just posted it: [link]

A nice thing is that I usually only have to sculpt one half as I can mirror the other side. :3

I'm getting a sculpture from *mangakasan
She finished it long ago so you can find it in her gallery if you look up a deviation called "majestic Azazel" (my ipad refuses to copy paste the direct link right now xD)

Thank her. They are pangolins and are actually totally unrelated to armadillos or other ant-eaters but have evolved in similar fashion. Sadly they're being driven towards extinction by the Chinese and Vietnamese who use them in their traditional medicin. -.-

wow. her sculptures are soo cool

ah pangolines^^°sorry. armadillo just came to my mind when i saw the picture... but pangolines are cuter<3

i know. they are an endangered Species. i was the one who "translated" your article about them into german. but sadly i do not know many people or have other user who read my posts

Yeah, I think they're great. My sculpting is pretty much limited to when I do my prototypes and I'm always greatful that I don't need to make more than one good half of the head. I imagine that to be hard when you're doing real sculptures and you have to get both sides good. XD

Aw. >3 Danke dir noch mal dafür dann. ich habe längst den Überblick verloren mit wem Ich alles darüber gesprochen habe. ^^,
Ich habe eine ähnliche Situation auf Facebook wo ich nicht sonderlich aktiv aber auch eher privat bin. Da kriegt kein Schwein mit was ich da gesagt haben will. XD Gruppen helfen aber wenn man keine etablierte Stimme besitzt so zu sagen.

scultping one good side is still more than i am capable of>u<

kein problem geht mir genau so, wenn ich mit leuten schreibe, für die ich plüschies mache. da weiß ich auch oft nicht mehr wer nun was gesagt hat^^°also wenn wir so drüber schreiben was wir arbeiten, hobbies usw.

This is amazing The details in the face and the anatomy....would you consider selling the prototype once its done?

Thank you dear. I'm afraid it wont be possible to sell the prototype as it is sceduled for destruction today. I need to take it apart to update the pattern with changes in the chest area, now that the neck has been added and the neck pattern needs updating as well since it's shorter now that the head is in place. ^^,

You're so intricate whilst making this prototype, the shape and details are pretty amazing. Only slight crit would be that the legs are perhaps a little wide, but I'm sure you're aware of this and I know how hard it is to make skinny legs! The detail of the head is brilliant and the shape is great, it's like proper soft sculpture here!

Thank you for your lovely comment and critique. I'm aware of the legs being both sturdy and too short. When I first started on the legs I made a leg that was a lot thinner, using the fabric that I've gotten for the actual plush. It ended up way too weak to carry anything and as I wanted to avoid using wires inside the plush, I decided on making the legs more sturdy. I've focused a lot on giving the legs a 3 dimensional shape, but despite all the work they didn't turn out as well as hoped. I will be trying to make the legs a bit longer to better match the body, especially the front legs. :3

PixelMecha In reply to demiveemon [2013-03-04 23:16:57 +0000 UTC]

I think he looks really excellent, none the less! I think slightly longer front legs would balance him out, he looks a lot more like a sturdy draft horse!

demiveemon In reply to PixelMecha [2013-03-04 23:24:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the front needs to get up a bit. :3 I'll try to widen the snout as well, as the head currently looks more like a tapir from up front than a horse. XD
Lots of areas I would like to tweak but in some of the areas like the butt and the belly it just turns out wrong when I try to fix it.

I think he looks really good as-is, the butt and belly look fine! I can't wait to see the finished thing!

I hope it will. :3 I've dismounted the prototype plush and am trying to combine it with the old pattern to see where the changes have occured, but it's hard, since the fabric has stretched so nothing seems to fit XD
