Just playing some ideas around after the previous picture I posted earlier.

I mentioned earlier that because of the demon Kubo's powers would be effected badly as a result. His powers (and transformations) would change differently due to the moon phases ranging from him loosing his powers during a new moon to loosing control of said powers in random ways during a full moon. However there was also the waxing and waning phases as well as the half-moon. Those phases would have an effect on his powers in a way that it would trigger half-changes with lunar power affecting him during the night and the transformations would mess around with his head during those phases.

Basically the moon is a "trigger" for his demon and frankly the other kids would have their own different triggers that would cause all sorts of mayhem to them as well as random tfs if exposed to those "triggers" in any way.

The picture up above plays around with the idea, short time after the kids encounter Kubo out in the woods of Gravity Falls with no memory of how he got there, they help him out and let him stay with them after learning about his magical abilities until weeks later they notice weird things happening at the Shack and how "off" he's been acting at night until eventually one night, while Kubo offered to help Mabel take care of the basement after the other kids messed around with it earlier that day, the kids learn he's been affected by one of the same demons the kids themselves were infected with themselves.
