This ask really shows how much of a straw man the Commander is at this point, because when you really think about her answer you realize how little sense it makes.  The question is basically " I thought you guys couldn't get along so why are some of you living together and being friends?"

The Commander's answer: weakness. What does that mean?

Does she mean the only reason the octolings that has "betrayed" her are living with inklings because they're too weak to fight? Does she mean that the inklings aren't killing the octolings because they're too weak to last through a second Great Turf War? Is she implying that she thinks that's the octolings are being brainwashed by the inklings into liking them and they're weak for not being able to resist? Does she mean their respective governments are weak for trying to make treaties instead of just taking what they want from the "enemy?"

If I'm just misunderstanding her answer please feel free to enlighten me on what she means here, but for me, in this moment, it sounds about as strawman of an answer as you can get.

To any of the octolings: This is going to sound weird but do you guys have ears?  I mean, obviously you have the ability to hear, but do you have outer ears like humans and inklings do and your tentacles just cover them up, or are the internal like a bird's ear? 
I know this is a weird question but I'm legitimately curious because now that I think about it I don't think I've ever seen an octoling's ears before.
