Description
Reworked and speedpainted for fun. DL for full view. For a long time, this was my top favorite piece, so I decided to try it out again in my new style. I know some of you will prefer the original, but this was too fun to resist. I'll post the sketch version of it, too, just not now ^_^; Sloppy coloring is due to speed as well as an attempt at trying something new...Edit: For comparison, and if you want to check out the original, here it is: [link]

Your Labyrinth pieces are truly wondrous, they really are. I love them all! This is amazing, even the original gives me that uplifting feeling, this just sends goosebumps along my arms.

You know what this reminds me of?? Howl's Moving Castle. It's probably the dark cloak and the fallen limp grey hair cause it looks like Howl *sorta* when he's in bird form and all weak and dark and bloody. Also in another scene his hair color gets messed up so he summons dark forces and this also reminds me of that. Anyways this is beautiful love the work you did <3

I'm very glad you like it so much. I've developed a fondness for them, like I do with any other characters that my muse decides needs added to my collections...Right now the Mad Hatter and Alice (from the new movie) are trying to push themselves into my life >.>;; Like I need more muses to fight over my time...:sigh:

I like this one better than the original and its not often that I say that. The way you approached it this time is so much different, there's a real depth and presence of emotions that I didn't really pick up on in the original. There's also more details in the way it was "speed painted." It doesn't look sloppy to me at all, it looks beautiful. I really love Jareth and Sarah's expressions and how they can interpreted so differently. Jareth's in this version seems more sad as if he's just happy to have her back. Sarah's expression and stance seem to say "I really missed you."
I like that you chose to not to have the characters at the center of the page, but the corner. Somehow it seems to change everything, in some beliefs the right side means power. Having them together seems to establish that they both have equal power over each other, but I'm probably getting too far ahead of myself. Over all I really like it for all that it is. A good picture can be interpreted many ways.

Wow. O.O; Long comment. I'm used to the one liners, so I was surprised and perhaps a bit overwhelmed when I saw this one.
Regardless, I'm glad you like this one so much. My choice to place them off to the side was in part to accommodate Jareth's cloak, as well as for composition reasons. I didn't know about the right side meaning power, but I'm glad I do now ^_^ Thank you for the comment, and you kind words. I'm truly glad you like the image ^_^

Is there a story that goes with this? Also, this seems a bit similar to the old LNLS/Ashwinder Snape/Hermione banner; was that intentional? Of course, I prefer this version (aesthetically and content-wise).

O.o; I have no idea what you're talking about with the LNLS thing. I actually borrowed the painting style from Viviphyde on DA, and the original picture idea. Regarding a story idea...yes and no. There was one, but I scrapped it mid-way through the first chapter, so it never actually went anywhere. I didn't help that there were many of the same...thread already in existence.

LNLS (Lord and Lady Snape) is the old (pre HBP) name for the Ashwinder site, which is a HGxSS archive (ashwinder.sycophanthex.com). Your piece reminded me of their header banner (and the original piece from which it was taken).
And awww.. I hate when that happens in the middle of a story.
