"Wind whipped viciously across fresh wounds as she stood there, bolding seeking out the sun on the horizon. The battle had been fought and victory had been claimed, yet, somehow... it felt empty. Standing atop a jagged cliff that overlooked the lands they had fought so desperately to protect, she couldn't help but feel as if her will was beginning to suffer.
Blood stained the porcelain complexion of her face, painted in the heat of battle. Her eyes had a glossy sheen to them as she stood there, losing the defiant glint from before. Exhaustion tugged at her consciousness.
Heavy footsteps sounded behind her and something embedded in the dirt beside her feet. A blade that stood there erect, taller than she was, cast a thin shadow across her face. Two arms enveloped her waist protectively and a chin rested on her shoulder.
She could feel his presence; his energy seemed to pulsate throughout her body in the close proximity. It was all she could do to stand there, inhaling his scent and feeling his breath on the crook of her neck.
Nothing needed to be said."

I´m sorry for the sketchy thing, but it came as a rush of inspiration, boosted by Carrie´s wonderful words... at first I didn´t like it, but I love now the way Ichigo seems to be clinging to her, desperate, as if needing reassurance of she being still alive... and the way she seems surprised, but cringing... kinda like he touched a sensitive spot...
I enjoyed drawing it... hope you enjoy it as well.
