I remember when this happened in one of the episodes. Just his head is big compared to her! I'm not complaining about your drawing or anything, no, it's very good. I'm just sayin', that's really how it is!

Great drama! I love her hands, and how she clings to him. (That was my favorite part in the manga, when Aizen started walking toward them, and she just clung protectively to him. So much <3)

Ooh, I like this one a lot! XD Fantastic work, yes, lol, the relationship between Byakuya and Rukia is a strange one. Neither of them know how to properly express their feelings for each other so a lot goes unsaid. It is rather interesting, though.

Lying in her arms he realized he had been a fool, in his quest to uphold the law he had nearly killed the most important person who still lived. It was funny how it took the words from a person he considered the cause of this whole mess to make him realize this fact. However now that he was no longer second guessing himself his path was clear, he would save his beloved sister from any and all that would harm her.
Not nearly as long as I would have liked but with this being my finals week I've got other things on my plate. I really like your two other versions as well as 's.

A most tender moment for Rukia and a most vulnerable time for Byakuya (defeated, but dead?).
This once again goes to prove that while Byakuya has been harsh on her in life, the two of them still share that special bond that a brother and sister (albeit adopted) share. It is the love of family, and the love of each other in their sibling bond that brings them to a point of understanding. Even though Byakuya shunned her, looked down upon her, even viewed her as a nuisance perhaps, she has always had a special place in his otherwise hardened heart that others do not. He is a tough man, but he is all the same supportive after the fight with Ichigo.
As for Rukia, it looks to me like she came to his aid for a change. Badly injured and dying, she showed up in time to fight the enemy, but herself became injured in the process.
As they sit there, perhaps dying together, they ahve come to realize their cares for one another and have accepted that, while different, they are family, and families stick by each other.

I´ve always thought that Byakuya is cold with her because he just can´t bare to look at her features and not see Hisana in them. Maybe he feels even guilty, you know, being turn on at the sight of her, but knowing how sinful would that be: she´s his beloved one´s sister! But as it turns out, Byakuya has so much fire inside of him, and so much love, that he has to completely shun himself from her, so that none of that can be seen. I know that Rukia must feel very lonely and somewhat not wanted, but I think that Byakuya is the one who suffers the most: he might even love her, and pains him her pain, but wouldn´t you be afraid of a situation like that?

I would e scared to death of that type of situation! To always look at my "sister" and see the woman I love who died, knowing that my sister is entirely untouchable despite my loneliness and need for release and touch. I think you are onto something there, when you say that he is the one suffering. Though, I would use the word tormented. He is forced to remember that his loved one is dead each time he sees Rukia, to relive that loss and endure once again the pain he went through in her death. But also, when in seeing Rukia, he sees his lover, and wants to embracer her as a lover. Knowing that he cannot do that is both frustrating to him and torturous. Wanting someone so incredibly badly that you cannot stad to look at the person without that desire overwhelming you, that right there is a terrible feeling. But is it the cause of him being cold toward her, I wonder, or is it maybe that he viewed his wife so highly and believes that Rukia is not matching the same image?

No, he doesn´t see Rukia lower than her sister, since he once aknowledge her as being "his pride".
I think it´s the first, that he just can´t bare to look at her without suffering, so instead, he recoils from her. I remember her telling Renji that Byakuya doesn´t even look at her. Wouldn´t that be a way of trying to avoid this kind of confrontation? not looking at her, not even wanting to hear her voice? because If my bro´s voice sounds so alike my other brother, and sometimes you have to strain to listen and realise the difference between them, can you imagine him trying to strain his earing as much as he can, trying also to make his heart believe is not HER voice?

You are saying that he is forcing Rukia out of his mind, so to speak, in order to not think of her as his late wife, if I am correct?
If that is the case, it is very much understandable.
Though I debate with myself as to whether or not he feels disappointed by her somewhat.
What do you think?

denebtenoh In reply to HusamLycoris [2009-05-09 00:35:38 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, in a way I think he´s afraid of seeing Rukia as his lost wife.
But why would you think he´s dissappointed of her?
Rukia is beautiful, smart, hard tempered, strong, skilled and, especially, healthy, some of these things Hisana didn´t have. Besides, he should also be proud of her, given that she was able to live through Rukongai and actually make it to the Sereitei in spite of being such a little and short girl. Well - I - would be proud, and I think he´s too.
But tell me, why would you think something like that? what makes you formulate that question?

I believe there is a moment in Soul Society where Byakuya claims that he has often looked down upon Rukia.

Heck yeah, you are a Rukia-Master! After all, you do seem to hold the most extensive knowledge of her, and you have managed to master her image in all of the drawable ways. Plus you have a lot of her personality, and most certainly her charm.
There is a reason I call you Lady Rukia, and it is not just because you draw her :3
