It was pretty nice and I spent some time on it, so I decided to keep it.
Didn't use it 'cause the styles are so different, that forcing them together would pretty much be bondage.

Yeahhh, it's a shame clashing styles doesn't work, because this BG is really nice!  It has a very dream-like quality to it.

lol thanks !! It's pretty good for my first attempt at BG after such a long time. Used a reference though, but couldn't help it 'cause this was supposed to be from a game

"Used a reference though"
You say that like it's a bad thing!  Every artist absolutely should use references!  Always!!
Some of the best artists can tell you how they started doing art without reference, because it wasn't cool or w/e, and if you could draw without reference it meant you were good; then moved on to using references, realizing how vital it was; then stupidly stopped because they 'knew enough to not need them'; then finally went back to using them always because of how stupid they were and how much damage they did to their growth by not using them.

So, lesson: use references.

wellll I said that 'cause it wasn't something original I came up with, is what I meant. But it's fanart so I had no choice.
I use references often when it comes to fanart, but I dislike it 'cause it feels like I'm copying someone's else work...

But you're right, I shouldn't be worrying about that now; I need to practice my skills first and references are essential. Thinking back, that one art class I took was all about always using references lol... Guess that slipped off my mind. I've got alot of groundwork to finish before I start aiming for the stars

Hmm, your feedback is becoming a major influence in my drawings

Gotcha.  No, hey, I completely understand- it REALLY does feel like copying, and when you want to make something original (which you should), it just feels wrong.  So, I get it.  But, yeah, we REALLY need to use references, heavily at first, but as you get better and better, you can cheat a bit- but that's after you REALLY have all the basics down- you'll just get to the point where maybe you need a ref for how the lighting works, or a piece of jewelry, etc, and even then you won't directly copy.

XP  I know how much I've always needed help, and how hard it has been to get any, so when I know someone who's genuinely trying, I try to help when I can.   You're stuff is really coming along and looking good!  I was looking back at your stuff from several years ago- quite a difference!
