its strange too because he keeps changing the board type. do the different types of boards mean different places in ikebukuo or do they change when the arc changes?(dollar arc, skira arc, yellow scarves arc) we will never truly understand izaya's motives.

To be honest, I think it's not a game at all. The chess pieces, checker pieces, and whatever the other things are represent the three main groups. The dollars, the slashers, and the yellow scarves. Izaya removes a piece at the death or resignation of a member of the respective group. He moves the pieces closer to each other when he manipulates the things that go on in the city. When the three final pieces faced each other, there was supposed to be an all out turf war. However, this did not workout the way he thought it would.

Makes sense, but it's sometimes hard to figure out who is who and such. Izaya's confusing and I don't see why he has to have his own game like this in the first place... But, I think what you said is right, too.

Hehe, thanks. Also, the slashers are the pointy peices. The dollars are the chess peices and mikado Β is the king. Celty is the night. The checker pieces are the yellow scarves. That's all I know. Izaya is a confusing guy. He controls the actions of others by using his knowledge as an info broker to manipulate what goes on in ikebukuro. He wants to creat conflict to wake up celty's head. Which is creepy. Also, he's kind of creepy. But he does have some great monologues!

I hate to admit it but Izaya has some damn fine quotes. They're awesome despite Izaya being... Izaya.Β
By the way, I don't think I've ever really tried to find out who was what in the game, but it seems like you've pieced it all together pretty easily... cool.

I suppose so. And I agree that izaya's quotes are somewhat creepier because he is the one saying them. But maybe that's what makes them so good. I almost read one for an audition monologue, but I decided against it because I didn't think I could quite live up to izaya's great voice. His voice actor is amazing. Johnny Yong Bosh is his name I think.

Yeah. I love Izaya's voice actor. I always start liking a character a lot more once I realize that they have the same voice actor as Izaya. Like Sasori from Naruto Shippuden, for example. When I realized his voice was Izaya's he became a lot cooler. Because Izaya voice is the best voice there is, especially for Izaya's long and winded quotes.
