You can unfortunately use them only for the home screen. long press the icon and choose from your explorer / wherever you saved them.

go to your homescreen, and longer click to an icon. then you have to choose the app/folder, where you downloaded the icon pack and unzipped it. there you can choose one icon for the specific app

All three styles are nice, idk which I like best but I'd probably go with the middle one.
Just FYI, you don't have to make these folders if you don't want to.
